Japanese Cultural Visit
01 Jun 2009
Ivanhoe Grammar School welcomed instructors from Nippon Australia Cultural Services as part of its Year 8 studies on Japanese culture. On Wednesday 27 May a series of sessions were held for students to demonstrate various Japanese cultural activities.
The instructors hosted various activities such as tea ceremonies, calligraphy, Bon-odori (a traditional dance) and J-Pop to help students understand Japanese culture.
Students in Year 8 are currently studying Japanese culture as part of their Japanese language studies and having the expert demonstrators visit gives them a practical opportunity to experience the culture first hand.
