IB Results are in!
04 Jan 2010
It was a particularly long wait for students who completed their IB Diplomas in 2009 as they finally received their results today. Students who could attend today gathered together at The Ridge Cafe with their teachers and parents to open their envelopes which contained the IB score which they had been working towards for the past two years.
The mood was of relief and happiness as the students read their results at last, a quick glance shows that remarkably 45% of the students taking the IB Diploma in 2009 received a score that was equal to or greater than an equivalent ENTER score of 95. All students also received an equivalent 40+ VCE Study Score for at least one of their subjects.
Two students who did particularly well and achieved top IB results are Dougal Davis, who is just 16 years old, and Catherine Brock, the 2009 Ridgeway Campus Vice Captain. They said they took up the IB Diploma because of the added challenge and depth of curriculum that it provided. They also said they enjoyed the close knit group that was formed with their classmates undertaking the IB and the course teachers.
Since the IB Diploma was introduced at The Ridgeway Campus in 1994 it has proven to be a popular alternative to VCE studies due to its unique curriculum and international qualification and focus.
The Class of 2009 now only has one more wait to endure until first round tertiary offers are made on 18 January.
